Seven members of the North Charleston Police Department have received awards from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety for their high number of DUI arrests in North Charleston. The North Charleston officers were recognized at the annual Law Enforcement DUI challenge awards ceremony last week.

The North Charleston officers who were awarded:

DUI Gold Heroes (50 or more North Charleston DUI arrests)
Officer Jonathan Lawrence
Officer Anthony King

DUI Silver (25 to 49 N. Charleston DUI arrests)
Officer Thomas E. Bennett Jr.

DUI Bronze Heroes (10 to 24 N. Charleston DUI arrests)
Officer Theodore J. Gorman

Many South Carolina police agencies, including North Charleston, received equipment as incentive for participation in SC's DUI Challenge last year. Also, police equipment and patrol vehicles were given away at the DUI awards ceremony.

These awards were given out solely based on the number of DUI arrests. Remember, a DUI arrest is not a conviction. If you have been charged with DUI in North Charleston or anywhere in the lowcountry, please give our DUI attorneys a call today to discuss your case.
