According to a recent Forbes article, 14 NFL players have been arrested for DUI this off season. Of these 14 players, eight of them have been charged with DUI in the past two months. The latest to make headlines is Tennessee's Kenny Britt who was arrested early Friday morning.
He joins Aaron Berry, Justin Blackmon, Rhett Bomar, David Diehl, Nick Fairley, Jerome Felton, Darrius Heward-Bey, Marshawn Lynch, Brandon Meriweather, Knowshon Moreno, Robert Quinn, Aldon Smith and Eric Wright. Blackmon and Bomar aren't currently under contract, but the remaining 12 players are slated to make more than $25 million combined in base salary next season. It seems that with these types of salaries calling a cab would be possible rather than getting behind the wheel with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .18 like Diehl or a BAC of .24 like Blackmon.
Remember that DUI is a serious charge and facing that charge without a skilled DUI lawyer as an advocate should be highly discouraged.
